Directions to the Perry Barr Campus
The Department of Media and Communication is based on the second and third floor of the Baker Building, Perry Barr Campus, Franchise Street, Perry Barr Birmingham B42 2SU.
By car from the M6
Exit the M6 at junction 7. Follow the A34 to Perry Barr. As you pass through Perry Barr you will come to a large roundabout where the A34 crosses the A4040, turn left onto Aston Lane. After a short time you will reach a cross roads with traffic lights, turn left onto Wellhead Lane. The student car park is the third turning on your left.
By train
All mainline services to Birmingham arrive at Birmingham New Street station. There are two trains an hour that leave New Street for Perry Barr on the line to Walsall (journey time approx. 13 minutes). As you leave Perry Barr station you need to turn left. Once you are in front of the One Stop shopping centre follow the instructions on 'By bus'.
By bus
Buses include 33, 34, 51 and 52.
Get off the bus at the One Stop Shopping Centre bus depot. Outside there is a large bricked area. As you look at Blockbuster, to your right there is a small flight of steps. At the bottom you will see that there is an under pass, go through these or go across the road at the traffic lights right next to it. Once you are on the other side of the road the Department of Media and Communication is the Baker Building, the first building on your right.

Directions to Screen Media Lab in Digbeth
The Department's Screen Media Lab facility is located in Units 2&3 Progress Works, Bromley Street, Digbeth, Birmingham B9 4AN.
By car
- From the M5
- Follow the M5 northbound to its conclusion at the M6, bear left to join the M6 towards London (M1), Birmingham (N & NE) (see 'from the M6').
- From the M40
- Follow the M40 northbound to its conclusion at the M42 and join the M42 towards the North (M1, M6), NEC & airport and Solihull (see 'from the M42').
- From the M42
- Leave the M42 at junction 7 (northbound) or junction 8 (southbound) and join the northbound M6 (see 'from the M6').
- From the M6
- Leave the M6 at junction 6 and join the A38. Take the third slip road to the roundabout and take the first exit (passing the fire station and Aston University). Move into the left lane. Take the third left, drive straight on, under a bridge and through one set of traffic lights. At the second set of lights (by a go-karting building) turn right. The car park is the third turning on the left.
By train
The Department's facilities in Digbeth are a 15 minute walk from Birmingham New Street station.
If you are walking to Screen Media Lab from New Street Station, firstly come out of New Street station by the taxi rank, keep to your left and walk towards the Bullring shopping centre. You'll pass TK MAXX on the right hand side. Go into the Bullring and down the escalators, follow your way out to the exit by Pizza Hut which leads to St. Martins Church. Come down the walkway passing the Church on your right and Selfridges to your left. As you come to the pedestrian crossing go straight over keeping to the left hand side of the road (Digbeth High Street).
Keep walking about 5 minutes beyond the Audi dealership and South Birmingham College. Eventually you'll see signage marking the Custard Factory and will reach a set of traffic lights. Turn left at the traffic lights onto Heath Mill Lane. Take your second right (with Maverick Television on the corner) onto Bromley Street. Screen Media Lab part of the first building on the left, on the right hand side of Maverick Television.
By bus
The following local buses stop outside the centre at the junction of Gibb Street and Deritend: 15, 17, 20, 37, 37A, 4, 5, 56, 57, 57A, 58, 58A, 590A, 590C, 59A, 6, 60, 850, 851, 96, 99, 20.
