Tales of Creativity

- The School has developed Tales of Creativity, an online collection of graduate employability and business start-up case studies about Birmingham City University's creative and media entrepreneurs. This online resource is for staff to showcase alumni and to inspire those interested in the media and creative sector to read more about the featured training programmes offered by the University.
Broadcast Journalism Training Council

- The School maintains strong links with the industry body for broadcast journalism training, and the broadcast journalism courses are accredited by the BJTC.
Chartered Institute of Public Relations

- The School also works closely with the CIPR, and delivers the CIPR Advanced Certificate in Public Relations.
Radio Studies Network

- The School has strong ties with the UK's network for researchers & teachers of sound broadcasting, and two staff members sit on the steering group, Tim Wall (Chair) and Andrew Dubber.
New Music Strategies

- New Music Strategies is not just a blog about new ideas and information for music industry entrepreneurs, but also the name of a strand of the Urban Cultures Research Centre in the School Media and Communication.
Royal Television Society

- The School is also allied with the Royal Television Society, and our Visiting Lecturer in Television & Video, Gerry King, acts as the Secretary for the Midlands.
Media Talent Bank

- The School has developed an online service for the promotion of media talent in the region. Media Talent Bank is a database of creative individuals and freelancers from the West Midlands region, accessible to companies across the UK. Graduates of the school are encouraged to register.
West Midlands Animation Forum

- Notion Studio, the School's industry-facing team for animation and video production, has taken the leading role in setting up the West Midlands Animation Forum. The Forum is primarily a business networking group for animation industry professionals from the region. It has been established to help support and grow the sector in the region, and raise its profile on the national and international stage. Regular masterclass events are held on various topics to promote the sharing of knowledge and experiences, and to facilitate networking.
Inspiration Bank

- The School also worked with Birmingham Central Library to develop an image bank designed to inspire those in the creative industries, which provides access to stunning rare print collections.
