Accommodation
The University offers accommodation in Halls of Residence at various locations throughout Birmingham. All Halls are offered at a minimum forty-week contract. In addition, the University can provide details of accommodation in the private sector. For students with special needs there are accessible purpose-built units at some of the Halls of Residence, and further information is available on request. The range of accommodation offered includes catered, en-suite, and units suitable for postgraduates and for students with small families.
A place in Halls of Residence is guaranteed for first year full-time students providing an offer has been accepted on a course at Birmingham City University, the student does not live in Birmingham and they have applied by the start of the autumn term.
It is not possible to guarantee a room at your preferred residence, and priority for on-campus accommodation is normally given to students whose courses are based on the campus in question. Full-time students who live within the greater Birmingham area may similarly receive an offer of accommodation, if sufficient rooms are available.
Once you have received your offer of a place, you will be sent an accommodation pack which gives more detailed information about accommodation and will include an application form to be completed and returned. Most offers of accommodation are made over the summer period after any outstanding examination results are confirmed.
